PokerLoco player unlucky in EPT Warsaw
posted on November 22, 2008
We got the chance to talk to PokerLoco’s Andrej Nagy who played the EPT Warsaw recently. Andrej had a good run that unfortunately ended with an unlucky Bad Beat. During EPT Warsaw Andrej got to play with some of the big names in poker including Johnny Lodden, Ricardo Sousa and Gavin Griffin. When not playing live tournaments he can be found the NL200-400 tables at PokerLoco. He considers he’s strengths to be willingness to gamble, loosing small when holding second best hand and his patience. He started playing poker two and a half years ago by playing freerolls and immediately won some cash and went on to play cash games where he really started to earn big. After 10 months he was holding a bankroll of 20’000USD. After that he decided to try life as a poker pro and after winning another 20’000USD during his first month as a pro he has went on to play poker full-time online and at some of the world’s major Live Events

Summary of Andrej’s days at this year’s EPT Warsaw
Day 1
Andrej Nagy, Slovakia represented PokerLoco at this year’s EPT Warsaw and he got off to a great start on day 1 when he hit a full house on the first hand. During the first two levels of play Andrej went from starting chips at 10’000 to 18’000 and was looking good. After losing 8’000 chips against an aggressive player Andrej switched seat just to end up with poker star Johnny Lodden to his left. After going agains Lodden with a pair of aces on the hand, Lodden folded after Nagy’s raise on the turn and Andrej Nagy ended the day with 5600 in chips.
Day 2
Andrej planned on gambling during day 2 with blinds going up to 300/600 and on the fifth hand he managed to pocket kings while sitting on Big Blind. Perfect! After winning that hand he went up to 14’000 in chips and was once again looking good. He then had to wait about 25 hands before finally hitting another great hand, Ace King suited and went all-in just to be called by a guy holding pocket Jacks. The flop came with K, 8, 5. The turn showed a 4 and Andrej was looking like the winner, the only thing that could ruin his plans was if Jack came up on the River. The River came… and it showed, a Jack!! That meant the end to Andrej’s run at the EPT Warsaw and indeed it was unlucky with the guy hitting his only out on the River.
Andrej has planned to play the upcoming EPT Prague, PCA EPT, LAPT and of course next year’s WSOP. We wish him all the best in any future live events!
